I just love this site, I’m from Wisconsin ( Damn Yankee ), yes I know, I have been some time living down south and I loved it, I really feel I was born in the wrong time and place. I had a good laugh today, I went back and read some older posts enjoying them all.

true to the south, born and raised
here , understood every bit. Love
our language. Trying to pass it on to grandchildren. It’s heritage.

There is a southern phrase of not putting sugar in cornmeal. And another phrase about southern women never using miracle whip. Only mayonnaise. Preferably Dukes mayonnaise, but I can’t find it. Have you heard of these?

My granmomma always said just because you have children in the south that don’t make ’em southern. Like if your cat has kittens in the oven that don’t make’em biscuits.
