Coca Cola Cake
Coca Cola Cake This cake is the moistest cake we have ever had and my family LOVED it!!! Many people have had this cake at Cracker Barrel and have been trying to come up with the recipe. Well, this one is mighty close. This is a cake that most in the South grew up with right along side Coconut Cake. (Watch for that recipe coming up as well) I found this recipe originally on The Country Cook . Be sure to check out their blog, lots of great recipes over there. I have tweaked a couple of things but the basics are the same. I will say that the icing…

We’re Back!!!
Hey y’all!!! It has been one heck of a wild ride these past couple of years with many changes. Two Southern Sweeties was started by both myself, and Aileen back in 2012. Since then, there have been grandchildren born, a divorce, children have returned home, children have left home and both of us returned to working outside of the home. These past couple of months have led to even more changes in my life…. Stay tuned for more about those changes!!! Aileen is concentrating on her family and her career. She is an awesome wife and mother, who luckily still gets to enjoy both of her children…

Sexy Southwest Quinoa Skillet
Sexy Southwest Quinoa Skillet I decided to take a page from Aileen’s playbook for the start of this new year and try eating less meat. Those of you that know me know that I am just as bad as most mean when it comes to my love of big, juicy, medium rare steaks…. so I didn’t think this was going to be just a walk in the park for me. I knew I was going to need to find some “go to dishes” that I really enjoyed and that were very easy, this happens to be one of those recipes!! (Did I mention this is all made in just one skillet?)…

El Conquistador Taco Salad
El Conquistador Taco Salad ***UPDATE*** As most of y’all know, El Conquistador and I are divorced and have been for many years now. That being said, I absolutely still love his Mama and this recipe. As most of y’all know we call my husband “El Conquistador” (ok truthfully he named himself that and it just kind of stuck LOL). There are certain things that he grew up with that he absolutely loves, much like the rest of us. So for the last 11 years when he would talk about some sort of food or meal that he had in his youth, I will call his Mama and ask her for…

Cute Cookie Bowls
Cute Cookie Bowls Whether you are having a Birthday party for a child, needing a cute idea for an Easter basket, a dinner party, or just want to do something a bit special for the family, these little “cookie bowls” will be a hit. I personally like to make up a little sundae bar with all types of toppings and goodies. Put a scoop of ice cream into the cookie bowl and then let your guests (or family) go at it making their own creations. It’s a no brainer for children, but just let me tell y’all……….. These work wonderfully for little Easter Baskets. Cook the eggs. Use one of…

Mouthwatering Mississippi Pot Roast
Two Southern Sweeties Mouthwatering Mississippi Pot Roast If you are tired of the same ol’ pot roast have I got something to not only shake it up, but absolutely ROCK your world. I know I know, that might be overdoing it a bit, but honestly this little ol’ recipe truly excited both my family and myself. You see, I am kind of a creature of habit when it comes to some things. Sadly, one of those things was my “Pot Roast”. I always fixed it with the tried and trued onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, throw it in the Crock Pot method. Don’t get me wrong, it was…

Homemade Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
This recipe for Homemade Fresh Mozzarella Cheese is so easy and uses minimal, easy to find ingredients. You will never want to buy fresh mozzarella in the store ever again. Have you purchased Fresh Mozzarella Cheese in the grocery store lately? The price is out of this world. This recipe will cost you approximately $3.00 for a big ol’ ball of cheese, depending on the price of your milk. Fresh Mozzarella is actually very easy to make and the ingredients are readily available. Cheese is a staple in our homes (somewhere along the same lines as water LOL). I saw an episode of The Pioneer Woman on TV one day…
